ABSTRACT
Subjective career success can be defined as employees' attitudes, work experiences, satisfaction, motivation, and performance towards the company. Career success is also viewed as a positive psychology aspect and career achievement derived from an individual's work experience. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of emotional intelligence on subjective career success among employees of a plantation. This research employs a quantitative method and was conducted at Plantation X, with a population of 274 employees and a sample of 135 employees. Data were collected using a Likert scale based on Goleman's aspects of emotional intelligence and Shockley's aspects of subjective career success. Data analysis in this study utilized simple linear regression, which indicated a significant influence of emotional intelligence on subjective career success among employees. The results of the linear regression analysis showed an R Square value of 0.244, indicating that emotional intelligence affects subjective career success of employees by 24.4%, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the emotional intelligence variable.
